As our winter sports season gets underway, the Varsity Voice of the Republican has named two of our students as "players to watch." They are boys basketball players, John Ference and Jimmy McConkey. Check out the list!
On Sunday, the Republican will publish its winter sports section.
PARENTS BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT: Because Westfield Day at the Big E is this Thursday, we have moved Back to School Night to Wednesday, September 30.
Back to School Night is an opportunity for parents to come to school and follow their son/daughter's schedule in order to meet each teacher, receive information about classes, and ask questions. It is not a night for conferences with teachers but an opportunity to meet them and get acquainted with class policies and content.
COLLEGE PLANNING NIGHT: This event has been moved to Wednesday, October 7 in order to accommodate the speakers and presenters. More information is available here.
On Thursday, August 20, the Saint Mary's website was transfered to a new hosting company. As a result, the site was down most of the day. There are still some pages and images that are not uploaded yet, so we ask for your patience as we continue the upgrade.
Email addresses for administrators, teachers, and staff are not working. They will be active again sometime on Friday, August 21. If you have emailed someone at Saint Mary's and have not received a response, please resend it once the emails are active again. A note will be posted on the blog once this has happened.
If you have any questions, please contact Rob Lepage at mr.lepage@gmail.com.
Tony Melendez visited Saint Mary's on Monday, March 23 and gave a morning concert for the entire school. In the course of the presentation, Tony threw a frisbee and got it into the basketball hoop for the first time (he attempts this regularly at his concerts). He'll always remember Saint Mary's and we'll always remember his inspiring concert. Here's a YouTube video of the basket.
With the beginning of February comes the end of our Win/Win raffle drawings. Congratulations to all our lucky winners! The fundraiser was once again a great success. Our top two sellers were Courtney McEwan and William O'Neill, both members of the senior class.
Our History Department sponsored a schoolwide Mock Election on Monday. Students and staff had to fill out a registration form last week in order to be eligible. Voting took place all day on Monday at two voting booths that were set-up near the gym.
Votes were tallied at the end of the day and Barack Obama was elected, defeating John McCain by about a dozen votes.
The October newsletter for parents can be accessed here. There is a lot of important information contained in our monthly newsletter. It was mailed home earlier this month. If you have questions regarding any of the information in the newsletter, please contact the school.
