Praying with the Seniors

Today the seniors are praying for the seventh consecutive day for wisdom in making their college decisions. This is part of a nine-day novena, a popular devotion in the Catholic Church that demonstrates perseverance in prayer.

Each day in their theology class, the seniors are praying a decade of the rosary and reflecting on the possibilities of their future. It began on Monday, October 20 and will conclude on Friday, October 31.

As our seniors are confronted with the many choices that await them throughout this year, Saint Mary High School is encouraging them to ask God to help them discern the right path. As a Catholic institution, we are modeling to our students the importance and efficacy of prayer.

Freshman Retreat

The freshman retreat will be held on Friday, October 3, 2008. It will be led by New Spirit.

The retreat is scheduled for during the school day. Students should be dropped off and picked up at school like usual. They will walk to Holy Trinity Parish. Lunch will be provided and there is no charge for the retreat.

The purpose of the retreat is to build community in our freshman class and to have them reflect as they begin their high school careers.

If you have any questions, please contact Ms. Fiorentino at jfiorentino@stmaryhs.com.
